Hi! Dallas senior photographer here wanting to fill you in on the number one question when it comes time to take your senior photos. What should I wear??? My goal for all of my sessions is to have a fun and stress free experience. So after booking your session with me, and before you get in front of the camera, let’s get your outfits figured out. For your senior portraits to really show off YOU and express your style, we need to really make sure the outfits you bring are right.
Determine Your Session Style
Have you thought about where you want to take your senior portraits? There are so many cool spots in the DFW area. Do you want to shoot in Downtown McKinney or Dallas. Are you interested in one of the gorgeous, natural fields in Plano. What about an urban location with fun wall art? If you don’t know yet, that’s OK. There are so many awesome locations and I can help you figure that all out. What you wear and your locations kind of go hand in hand. Start thinking about if you want to include your cap and gown, a high school or college t shirt, and also if want to incorporate any of your high school activities like sports, band, choir, etc.

Dress it Up
Now is the time to really elevate your day to day style. During your senior session remember there is no such thing as too dressed up. Now is the time to go for it. and don’t be afraid to have some fun getting your outfits together.
For the girls, I recommend choosing short or long, flowing dresses or skirts. They’re flattering on all body types, look amazing on camera and bring extra movement and dimension to your photos. Dresses give the best “twirl factor,” add more style to your walking photos.
For the guys, there’s nothing sharper than a great fitting button down or a tailored suit. Button-up shirts and dress pants tend to look most impressive on camera because they really suit the male body. A long sleeve button-up shirt—this is a classic look that never goes out of style.
Stay True to You
In addition to a party look, you’ll want to include something more your style. Your favorite denim with a cool graphic tee and add your favorite shoes. Layering hats, great shoes and accessories will add more dimension to your photos too.
Remember, if you haven’t been in front of a camera before, I will help pose and guide you so your senior photos reflect you and your personality. I want your photos to reflect confidence and fun.
