One of my favorite parts of my job is collaborating with other creative professionals to bring their vision to life. I recently had the chance to photograph the amazing team from The Scout Guide Dallas. I am so fortunate to get to work with this amazing, local publication. We knew to shoot at one of my favorite natural light studios—The Lumen Room in Dallas.
The space was light-filled, minimal, and perfect for the stylish, editorial feel they were going for. From the beginning, we focused on capturing connection, creativity, and a love for supporting local businesses.
With the launch coming up she wanted a wide variety of images she could use online and for social media. She brought in props, wardrobe, and design elements that felt true to the brand and purpose. This session was all about highlighting the launch of Volume 13 with connection, style, and a deep love for local businesses.

Why Planning Your Brand Session Matters
To get the most out of your session, it’s important to plan ahead and Carlyn did just that. Before shoot day, we discussed inspo pics, what props she would need, and they worked on their coordinating outfits. All of this preparation makes for a smooth session with a gallery full of images.

For this shoot, I knew she wanted a mix of portraits, details, and pulled-back lifestyle images. They chose outfits and props that popped against the neutral backdrop. Everything worked together to tell their story in a polished, personal way.
