Violet’s senior photos took place on the prettiest fall morning. It was a little overcast, but that makes for the best, softest light. From the start, Violet brought such a fun, easy energy to her session. Because of that, the entire shoot felt relaxed and natural. I knew what Violet was going to wear so I had a plan in mind at all of my favorite spots to shoot at.

I either shoot early morning at sunrise, or a few hours before sunset during golden hour. For this specific location, it required an early morning start. Lighting is the most important factor when taking senior photos, and catching that dreamy morning light is important. Highland Park Village is always one of my favorite spots to shoot, especially in the fall. Early mornings here are quiet with fewer people and less distractions which is great for us.

Multiple Outfits, Endless Variety
Violet came prepared with multiple outfits, and it made such a difference. Each look brought a completely different vibe to her gallery. We moved through each outfit with intention. At the same time, we kept things easy and fun so nothing felt rushed. Because of that, her final images feel full of variety while still staying cohesive.
Every senior session I photograph looks a little different. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I customize each session so it reflects the senior. From outfit choices to locations and overall feel, everything should feel true to you. That’s where the magic happens.
