Your portfolio is often the first place a new client gets to know your work. Before they ever contact you, they’re looking through your website, scrolling your Instagram, and deciding if your style feels like the right fit. That’s why your photography matters. Your shot list is an important part of your interior photography session.
Your Photography Should Show More Than the Space
Beautiful photos of a finished project are important, but creating a gallery of gorgeous images to use online is key.
-Full room shots are usually taken first, then move to portrait images shot straight on and at an angle. During our session, I’m constantly thinking about how you will use each image. I want your final gallery to give people a feel for your work, your eye, and the kinds of projects you love to create.

– Half-room shots are usually next. This is where we get to be a little more creative and really show off those important design details. These are great to capture the layout and functionality of the space and they break up the full-scale images.
– Next are detail shots which are my favorite. Showcasing all of the design elements you and your client spent hours deciding on are worth capturing. These often bring so much interest to your online presence and are super important to take.

Let People See You
Finally, You are a huge part of your brand. Your future clients need a way to get to know you. Every now and then, popping into your space for a natural and relaxed shot is always a great idea.

Your website and Instagram work together to create that first impression. So when you’re planning your next project, think beyond getting one whole image of the entire space. Think about a collection of images that tell the story of your design, textures, colors and details.
