As a Dallas interior design photographer, I get to step inside some truly inspiring spaces and this color-washed home was no exception. It’s the kind of project that makes me so excited. The warm textures and the layered finishes tell the story of the space.
Before I setup my camera, I approach each shoot with a mix of intention and collaboration. I like to take a walk through the home with my client, chatting about what they love most and what they want to highlight. Working with me is always a collaborative process. I loved this space from Heritage Blue Homes and wanted to work together and create visual content that shows off their talent in the most compelling way.

I start by capturing the full room.
These wide shots are essential because they help establish the scale, flow, and overall mood of the space. For this project, I wanted to let the soft, sun-washed palette really breathe.
Also, I like to shoot a few versions of the same space. Maybe its styled slightly off-center, or with the light just right to give variety for your portfolio, website, or social.
Once we’ve nailed the big picture, I move in closer. Vignettes are my fun because they let me highlight your styling work.

Detail shots are next and some of my favorites.
These are the textures you feel and the finishes that elevate the space. And sometimes I like to get a little creative. I like to try new angles or zoom in on something unexpected. These are the types of shots that add personality to the gallery and give your audience a closer connection to the work. Again, these are sometimes great for Instagram or whatever social media platform you use.
